Vanja Pajic is an independent healthcare consultant with over 15 years’ experience in health informatics, digital healthcare delivery and EU legislation in healthcare IT. He combines clinical and public-health insight with technical and legal expertise - specialising in standards-based interoperability (EEHRxF, IHE/HL7, FHIR/CDA), GDPR/eIDAS/MDR/CRA/EHDS compliance and vendor-ready requirements. He currently coordinates EU Member State activity for cross-border digital health implementation projects and advises Member State ministries and eHealth agencies, as well as WHO and EU bodies on policy-to-implementation delivery.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Consultant under Emergency Conditions for the World Health Organization, in charge of facilitating the implementation of digital COVID certificates in 53 WHO Member States in the European Region, from the Atlantic coast all the way to the Pacific ocean.
Policy advisor for the European eHealth Digital Service Infrastructure, the most ambitious project in EU cross-border healthcare led by Member States and the European Commission: currently coordinating multinational medical, legal and technical teams in 27 EU + EEA/EFTA countries.
Former chair and founding member of the EU eHealth Member State Expert Group and the Member State Legal Work Group, in charge of implementing and deploying cross-border eHealth services: ePrescription and Patient Summary.
One of the authors of the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format, the European Hospital Discharge Report and Lab Results Report, ePrescription and Patient Summary.
Project Manager for the Croatian Health Insurance Fund and the Croatian Institute of Public Health, coordinator for the National Healthcare Strategy 2012-2020 at the Croatian Ministry of Health.
